I manage North America's first performance-accountable, no management fee pooled fund: The Oasis Fund. It is a core Canadian Equity Fund that is fully accountable to it's clients. An incentive fee is earned only when we beat the benchmark and the results must also be positive. Why? Because I believe that an active PM needs to create value to earn the right to charge a fee. If we underperform the benchmark or the results are negative, there are no fees charged. It's that simple.
